It is being reported that problems within the Webkinz World
database aired online for some time, and the game's team detected them and
fixed some of these flaws, but the team was not able to fix the problem
completely.
The company claims that the hackers will not have lost valuable user data
The information of about 23 million users of Webkinz World,
an online game made for children, has been compromised. According to a report,
a hacker has returned information about the users of this game. The game, named
Webkinz World, was launched in April 2005 and is very popular among children.
This game is specially designed for young children, in which children play with
beautiful and attractive looking animals. It is being told that the unknown
hacker posted the database of this online game on a popular hacking forum
earlier this month. This hacking is also believed to have occurred using the
SQL Injection hack.
According to a report by ZDNet, the hacker has uploaded a 1
GB size file, which contained the names and passwords of more than 20 million
users. However, online leaked passwords were encrypted with the MD5-crypt algorithm.

It has been reported that problems within the Webkinz World
database aired online for some time, and were detected by the game's team and
even removed some of these flaws. The Canadian company that made the game,
however, did not completely fix the problem. Due to which the hacker got
success in his dreams.
On this hack the company spokesperson said that (translated)
"Webkinz never asked for the last name, phone number or address of the
user and all transactions are done through our e-store, which has its own
server and account.
Which is not accessible in any way through Webkinz. "Even if some passwords are decrypted, valuable information about
the accounts of the users included in the game data cannot be obtained."
According to the information available on the Webkinz
Support page, accounts lying inactive for more than 18 months are stored by the
company. It has also been claimed that all information "other than the
user's name and password" is removed while storing the account.
