Sensex closed above Rs. 31500 | Latest Finance News 2020

Rising in the market due to RBI Governor's announcements, Sensex closed above 31500, Nifty also surge.


Today, on the last trading day of the week i.e. Friday, the stock market closed on the green mark after a day's trading. The Bombay Stock Exchange's leading index Sensex closed at 31588.72, up 986.11 points, or 3.22 per cent. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 9291 levels with a gain of 298.20 points, or 3.32 per cent.

Talking about the big stocks, today Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Maruti, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Mahindra Bank, TCS, Reliance and JSW Steel closed on the green mark. Hindustan Unilever, Infratel, Sun Pharma, Titan, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Cipla, Wipro and Britannia closed the red mark.


Sectoral index tracking



If we look at the sectoral index, today, apart from pharma and FMCG, all sectors closed on the edge. These include Media, Metal, Realty, IT, Auto, Banks, Private Banks and PSU Banks.

RBI Governor announced


The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das made a big announcement to protect the economy from the damage caused by the coronavirus. This has affected the domestic market. The reverse repo rate was reduced from 0.25 per cent to 3.75 per cent. RBI has introduced TLTRO 2.0 with Rs 50 thousand crores. If needed, it can be increased to more than 50 thousand crores. Under TLTRO 2, RBI announced assistance of Rs 50,000 crore to MFIs and NBFCs.

Rupee gained 48 paise to 76.39 per dollar


The Reserve Bank of India on Friday announced a series of measures to relieve the lagging economy from the Kovid-19 epidemic. The rupee also showed improvement and closed at 76.39 per dollar (provisional) with a gain of 48 paise. The strengthening trend in local stock markets also improved the rupee. After opening at 76.59 per dollar in the inter-bank foreign exchange market, it finally closed with a gain of 48 paise to close at 76.39 per dollar. The rupee had closed at 76.87 per dollar on Thursday.

Today, the Sensex started with a gain of 1069.43 points, or 3.49 per cent, at the level of 31672.04. At the same time, the Nifty opened at 9290.40 with a gain of 297.60 points, or 3.31 per cent. After this, at 2.33 pm, the BSE Sensex was seeing a gain of 67.93 points and was trading at a level of 31270.54. With this, the Nifty was at a level of 9183.45 after gaining 190.65 points.

The market closed on the green mark on Thursday


The stock the market closed on the green mark after a day's trading on Thursday. The Bombay Stock Exchange's flagship index Sensex closed at 30602.61, up 222.80 points or 0.73 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty closed at 8992.80 with a gain of 67.50 points, or 0.76 per cent.
