According to NHAI, the government gets revenue from the collection of toll tax and NHAI also benefits from this. Rating agency Icra has told that NHAI is expected to suffer a loss of Rs 1822 crore due to the lockdown.

However, toll-running agencies say that the risk of virus infection is still high, so it is too early to start toll collection. The official of a private toll-running the agency said, "We cannot tell from where the man is coming to the toll booth. Not everyone uses Fastag. There is a high risk of infection. "
