Earth Day 2020 Many activities are being conducted online to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day themed 'Climate Action' via digital medium.

New Delhi, Online Desk. Earth Day 2020: The 50th anniversary of Earth Day, which is celebrated on 22 April each year, is being celebrated all over the world with the main objective of showing everyone's involvement towards environmental protection. 


At a time when the whole world is struggling with the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic and no vaccines are yet possible for its treatment, due to the lock-down imposed by the government of all the countries in the home. 

Amidst the orders of stay, everyone has been appealed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day through digital mediums.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 'Climate Action' themed Earth Day of the year 2020, several activities are being organized online by Earth Day Network, which can be attended by visiting earthday.org

Earth Day is being celebrated by more than a million organizations in 190 countries of the Earth Day Network with a population of over one billion.


On the other hand, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has also appealed to everyone to take a pledge for more 'cleaner', 'healthier' and 'more promising' planet earth on the occasion of Earth Day. The Prime Minister also encouraged those fighting from Covid-19 to the front line.

Main things related to earth day


- The main purpose of the visit is to promote the participation of all for the protection of our environment and nature.
- The theme of 'Climate Action' of Earth Day 2020 has been set.

In view of Covid-19, an appeal has been made to celebrate the Earth Day of the year 2020 through digital means.

- Coordination between the countries of the world and various organizations about Earth Day is done by an organization called 'Earth Day Network'.

- More than one billion population has been connected to Earth Day Network through 190 countries.



Earth Day is celebrated annually from 22 April 1970.


- During the first program of 1970, New York was joined by one million people in New York and demanded more stringent environmental legislation. The event was organized by 25-year-old graduate Dennis Hayes.
