How to make your day productive?
The name of this technique is MIT: Most Important Task. I read about it in a book named Zen Habits.So let us know how we can make our day productive by using MIT:
In this method, you have to initially ask yourself a question:
"What is my most important job today?"
And as soon as you know the answer to this question, then you have to make it your goal today. Now you have to decide that whatever happens, you will do this work today, it is your own commitment.
Friends, you may have also experienced that when we have a lot of work in front of us, it happens many times that we have to do some work but that same work which was more important remains. But when you decide MIT for a day, then your focus becomes on that one most important task, and you can keep other less important tasks on the side.
Try to dispose of your MIT as soon as possible, you should think about the next day's MIT at night and try to finish this task as soon as possible after waking up the next day. When the work is complete, you will be very relaxed, you will feel that you have achieved what you had decided to complete. And now you can tackle the remaining works by prioritizing them.
MIT doesn't need to be a very hi-fi work, it can be small and big work, it is special that it will be your most important job on that particular day. It may be MIT to complete the assignment, then it may be MIT to distribute the wedding card to someone, then it may be MIT to make a sales presentation for someone else.
If I talk about today's MIT, then it may be a very simple task but to tell the truth, by doing this I am feeling very relaxed and good. Actually, I was thinking of creating and working on blogs for the last several days…. But for some reason, I am not able to make time for that work… but I made it my MIT today… and completed it while going to the office. If I do not make it an MIT, then like other days, today I would think that… when I return from office or tomorrow I will get this work done… and then that work would remain.
Actually, when you make a work MIT, then you have separate energy and motivation to do that work and the task is completed.
When you complete your MIT continuously for several days, then you will get used to it, and then you can modify MIT slightly and do MITs (Most Important Tasks), that is, now you have to stretch yourself and do one on a particular day. More work to complete.
To begin with, you choose any two tasks for yourself, also keep in mind that your list of MITs is manageable, if you put ten tasks in the MITs list, then this whole exercise may go in vain… according to me, you can get a maximum of 3 tasks done through this MIT's. technique. And at least one of these three tasks should be such that helps fulfil your LONG TERM GOALS. By doing this you will keep moving towards your goal daily and feel satisfied at the end of the day.
