On the other hand, WhatsApp has made changes to its core platform
for small businesses in some other markets including India. The Facebook-owned
company launched a dedicated WhatsApp Business app in January 2018 to make
communication easier for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Apart from this,
WhatsApp Pay was also released, which would make payment easier. However, this
feature is currently in testing mode. Due to this feature, users can do digital
transactions from within the app itself. It is also important to note that
WhatsApp already has 400 million or more than 400 million users in the country.
Although WhatsApp did not have any local means of earning
even after having so many users, now with the help of big domestic player like
Reliance, instant messaging app is ready to emerge as a major means of earning
